No, this has nothing to do with a Cinderella story and her fairy godmothers, I am talking about the Oasis of the Seas! Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you know that this is the newest ship from Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
It is now doing its inaugural sailing, and just yesterday they announced the godmothers of the ship.
Why 7 Godmothers, you ask?
Simple, there are 7 neighbourhoods on the ship! This is the first ship to have more than one godmother appointed!
And each godmother has been given their own neighbourhood. Here’s a list of the godmothers, and their neighbourhood:
- Gloria Estefan (singer, songwriter): Royal Promenade
- Jane Seymour (actress): Central Park
- Michelle Kwan (Olympic figure skater): Entertainment Place
- Dara Torres (12-time Olympic medalist in swimming): Pool & Sports Zone
- Shawn Johnson (Olympic gymnast): Boardwalk
- Daisy Fuentes (TV personality and producer): Vitality at Sea Spa & Fitness Center
- Keshia Knight Pulliam (actress): Youth Zone
