We’re sure you’ve all heard by now about Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s latest ship, the Oasis of the Seas, especially if you’ve been following our blog and Facebook posts! Well, the time has come for the ship to make its way to her future home, Port Everglades Florida. Leaving the dry dock at Turku, Finland on October 30th, the Oasis of the Seas is finally on her way!
Originally scheduled to arrive in Florida on the 11th of November, the Oasis encountered some harsh storms in the North Atlantic Ocean, which has delayed her arrival until November 13th. No worries though, it’s been smooth sailing from the start for this majestic ship, even from the moment it cleared the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark by just 6 inches!! Thank God for retractable smokestacks!
As you can see, everything has been planned right down to a T with this grand ship. Currently the world’s largest vessel encompassing 16 decks, the Oasis will hold 5400 people, and will be home to seven new neighborhoods onboard: Central Park, Boardwalk, Royal Promenade, Pool & Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa & Fitness Center, Entertainment Place, and Youth Zone will give passengers endless choices of things to see and do, whether strolling through the first "park" on a ship, watching a show, surfing on one of the two Flowriders, indulging in a spa day at sea, or zip lining (yes, ON the ship, not off the ship!), there will be no shortage of fun on this vessel!
We are still watching the videos that are available online at www.oasisoftheseas.com, as there are 5 days left until she gets home! We’ll keep you posted on the arrival of the ship, and what’s to come for the Oasis of the Seas. Her first sailing is December 5th and there are still spots available! Stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to watch Good Morning America on November 20th to get your first glimpse of the Oasis in all her glory!
